Har Mar Mall is a regional, enclosed shopping mall located in the city of Roseville, Minnesota, United States, a suburb of both Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Built in 1961 and expanded several times since, it is one of two malls serving Roseville (the other being Rosedale Center). As of 2015, Har Mar Mall has 8 big box retailers, including Burlington Coat Factory, HomeGoods, Marshalls, Cub Foods, Staples, Barnes & Noble, Michaels, and K&G Fashion Superstore and more than 20 smaller format stores and restaurants. ==History== Har Mar Mall was built in 1961, as Harold J Slawik had a vision to build a "super mall" which included a number of larger department as well as smaller stores. At the time in 1961 very few "super malls" had been built in the Midwest. Deriving its name from its owners, Harold J Slawik and his wife Marie Slawik. Har Mar is a combination of the two names. Harold and Marie. Slawik went on to build a number of other commercial outlets, and the name Har Mar Inc is still in use today by the Slawik family.Twin Cities architect Willard Thorson, who also designed Apache Plaza in nearby St. Anthony, designed the mall. In 1971, the mall was expanded. The mall got another renovation after being heavily damaged by a tornado on 14 June 1981.〔(25th Anniversary of the 14 June 1981 Har Mar Tornado )〕 A 1988 expansion added Highland Superstore and TJ Maxx as anchors. Three years later, the Highland store was converted to BizMart, an office supply store. BizMart was acquired by OfficeMax in 1992 and closed three years later as an OfficeMax store. By 1995, HomePlace opened in the space vacated by OfficeMax.
